Anything higher, heavier or close to a roof or power line is tree work, and that goes to our ISA Certified Arborist instead. How often should hedges be trimmed?
Most hedges in this area hold a clean shape with two or three trims across the growing season. Fast growers like ligustrum need it more often than something slow like holly.
Will trimming in summer hurt the plant?
Light shaping is fine through the season. Hard cutting back is better done outside the hottest stretch.
